Abstract
This paper presents an active compensation method of vibrations using piezoelectric inserts applied to a high speeds switched reluctance variable (SRM). The aim of this method is to reduce acoustic emission for SRM. Piezoelectric inserts are considered as actuators: by vibratory acceleration measurement on SRM stator, an adequate voltage is applied to inserts and consequently imposes forces on SRM. This adequate force compensates the structure strain originated by electromagnetic, aerodynamic and mechanical forces. Influences of SRM mechanical component to vibratory problem are studied. Finite element and experimental results are discussed in order to confirm viability of this compensation approach.
