Abstract
Estimates of noise spectral density have been evaluated for various models of conduction mechanism in electroformed M–I–M structures. The noise spectral density of leakage current has been studied experimentally on formed Al–Al2O3–Au samples at different frequencies and temperatures. The comparison of model and experimentally measured results revealed that the noise measurement can be used to verify the accuracy of various models of the conduction mechanism in electroformed M–I–M structures. Moreover, such measurements can provide important and useful information with a view to the correct explanation of electroforming and related phenomena.
