Abstract

High-resolution white-light endoscopy showed nodular gastritis (NG). NG is an endoscopic indicator of Helicobacter pylori infection, particularly in young women. NG is characterized by unique small protruding lesions with a uniform distribution within the antrum. Biopsy specimens of these lesions reveal lymphoid follicles with active and chronic inflammation. As NG may be associated with diffuse-type gastric cancer, detailed observation at the time or future screening endoscopy should be considered when NG is encountered on endoscopy. This article is part of an expert video encyclopedia.
