Node Micro Controller Unit based Underground Cable Fault Distance Locator

Abstract

Generally, the underground lines are preferred over other transmission lines due to its advantages such as reduced transmission losses, low maintenance costs etc. Whenever, a cable fault occur, identifying the exact location of the fault becomes a crucial task. With the help of Node MCU Wi-Fi module, one MCU module will be allocated for each Transformer. A server is integrated to check the status of the transformer in case of failure. The Node MCU is responsible for connecting all hardware components through Internet.
