Abstract

The recent internal reorganization at the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) [Eos, April 6, p. 218] will emphasize the services that NODC offers, according to director Edward L. Ridley. The primary objective of the reorganization is to provide coordinated, responsive, and responsible automated data processing (ADP) support while delineating more clearly the lines of responsibility for ADP functions, the NODC director said. For example, the international programs, which were dispersed throughout NODC, are now under a single manager.
