Abstract

Introduction Many patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) report nocturnal restlessness and lively dreams leading to sleep disruption and possibly daytime sleepiness. In many of the cases, these symptoms are due to REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) which often precedes motor symptoms in PD. The aim of this study was to examine the frequency of nocturnal restlessness and lively dreams in PD patients and their association with disease-specific symptoms and subjective daytime sleepiness in a clinical setting.
