Abstract

Nochê Raquel Almeida (bio) To Nochê Sandra de Xadantã.Dona Tereza de Légua andNochê Marcela de Naveorualim Some women wander in time with a mission. They keep the secrets of life, existence, and death, they shelter, restructure paths, heal wounds which have been opened with the flaw of injustice. There is nothing in the world that could erase their memories, they dance with the wind and whisper in the ears of those who deserve the call, they are traveling women who fight with shields, spears, swords, and spells. They spend the day sowing the fields, preparing baths of energy, caring for the fetus gestated in the sacred uterus of the universe. They clean, perfume, cherish, and control with a touch that dishevels around them. Early in the morning, before the rooster crows, they are on their feet praying, preparing sacred nourishment, the foundation which rewires with the ground, air, fire, and water, after the preparation, they pass through the gateway where they create lives, pray with sturdy voices, call into the uterus the best for each created being, teach how to commune with the world after get out of there. In the dawn, they sing and dance, revolve their skirts on the sound of batás,1 and the spin of the skirt's waddle let the eyes mesmerize, and the whole woods shivers itself on hearing the sound of their chants, everything hushes, the time stands still. She who is the mother of every woman who lives there, greets all elements with wisdom, she is the keeper, she is the one who holds the harmony's portal key between everything that there is in the world.
