Abstract

Biodiversity offsets and no net loss (NNL) are important tools for the international policy focus on ecological restoration. In this issue of <i>One Earth</i>, Kajula et al. call for national, public offset registers to enable evaluations of biodiversity offset programs. Here, we argue that we also need to control the main drivers of biodiversity loss.
