N,N′-Bis[(2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methylidene]benzene-1,4-diamine

Abstract

The centrosymmetric title compound, C24H18N8, was prepared by reaction of 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbaldehyde with 1,4-phenyl­ene­di­amine. The dihedral angle between the outer phenyl ring and the triazole ring is 6.9 (3)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter­molecular aromatic π–π inter­actions between the parallel triazole and benzene rings [the centroid–centroid separation is 3.485 (2) A].
