Abstract

We determine the πNN form factor from the P 11 partial wave of πN scattering by dressing a corresponding bare vertex with the help of πN non-pole contributions within the meson exchange framework. For pseudovector πNN coupling the πNN form factor can be roughly parameterized by a monopole with cutoff mass ≳ 500 MeV, with some variation due to model dependencies. The πNN form factor based on pseudoscalar coupling is less soft and characterized by a monopole cutoff mass ≳ 700 MeV, in good agreement with independent information.
