Abstract

An extension of the usual quark rearrangement model is made in such a way that the transition NN̄(S) into two s-wave mesons takes place with the 3P 0 vertex acting only once. However, this is at the expense of introducing, into the final state, meson-meson rescattering. The result is a partial understanding of several S-wave branching ratios but does not explain the so-called πρ puzzle.
