Abstract

59Co NMR study has been carried out in a series of magnetic thin film amorphous Co1−xZrx alloys in the concentration range 0.1 <x < 0.4. The analysis shows that every Zr nearest neighbour lowers the NMR frequency on Co in the amorphous CoZr alloys by about 30 MHz and that the alloy structure in Co-rich compositions resembles the polytetrahedrally closed packed crystalline phases.
