NMR/NQR study of the quadrupole orders in binary uranium–palladium intermetallic compound

Abstract

We report the first experiment of nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) in UPd 3 , probed by Pd 105 nuclei. In the normal state at 10 K, the four NQR lines at 32.25, 41.54, 54.51 and 67.36 MHz have been observed. From the obtained NQR spectrum, the nuclear quadrupole frequency and the asymmetric parameter are deduced.
