Abstract

Transverse cross relaxation resulting from an intramolecular dipole-dipole interaction of two nearly like spins is investigated in the slow tumbling region. Theoretically predicted non-Lorentzian lineshapes are experimentally confirmed. The conditions for maximum peak separation and for coalescence are derived and relationships between lineshapes for transverse cross relaxation and for chemical exchange are discussed.
