Abstract

Comparative studies on the IR and NMR of some binary borate systems and ternary borosilicate systems were made. The results of NMR in R 2OB 2O 3, La 2O 3B 2O 3 and Na 2OB 2O 3SiO 2 glass systems were measured and calculated using the phase diagram model. The authors believe that the structure of a simple glass resembles the related congruent melting compound, a multicomponent glass can be regarded as the melting mixture of some adjacent congruent melting compounds in the phase diagram. The structure and properties of glass can be calculated by level rule.
