Abstract

The second moment M2 of the 19F n.m.r. line was determined for CFCl3 adsorbed on silicalite with dependence on the degree of pore filling. Additionally, the differential molar heat of adsorption was measured for CFCl3 on silicalite as a function of the adsorbed amount by means of adsorption calorimetry. Both coverage dependencies show an abrupt increase at medium pore fillings, which is interpreted as a cooperative change of the state of the adsorbate. From the n.m.r. data the contribution to the adsorbate-adsorbate dispersion interaction to the differential molar heat of sorption is estimated.
