Abstract
This is the first audit of NHS maternity and neonatal services, encompassing all women and their babies and the outcomes of their care. It does not duplicate or incorporate themes covered by MBRRACE or National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP). The overall aim of the NMPA is to produce robust information about NHS maternity and neonatal services, which can then used by providers, commissioners and service users to benchmark against national standards and recommendations, where possible. The ethos is to share good practice initiatives across the country and to improve outcomes for all.
