Abstract

Radioactive decay of 56Mn has been reinvestigated using coaxial Ge(Li) detectors. Energies and intensities of ten γ-rays were measured. Gamma-rays of 1238.3 and 2598.6 keV were confirmed; a new γ-ray of 1038.0 keV was found showing that the 3123.1 keV level in 56Fe is fed by β-decay. A 3120 keV level ( J π = 0 +) was not found to be fed in this decay.
