Abstract

In a split root experiment translocation of N from shoot to root was studied using 15NO 3 − . The three plant species selected for this experiment differed significantly with respect to root NRA. For lupin, maize and cocklebur about 80, 50 and 6% of all absorbed NO 3 − was assimilated in the roots, respectively.
