Abstract

An yttria-stabilized zirconia planar substrate with Pt-based screen-printed interdigitated electrodes, was tested at 700°C as amperometric sensor for oxygen and nitrogen monoxide. The coating of the sensor with a screen-printed layer of spinel MgAl 2O 4 increased the NO response to the order of magnitude of the oxygen response. The compactness of the spinel layer was shown to have a critical influence on the catalysis of the NO chemical dissociation.
