Abstract

In this study, nitrofurazone (NF), a commonly used but banned drug in aquaculture, was used as the research model for nitrofuran antibiotics. A poly-alizarin red modified glassy carbon electrode (PAR/GCE) was prepared by electropolymerization. On this modified electrode, NF can produce a sensitive and stable reduction peak. Other nitrofuran antibiotics, such as nitrofurantoin and furazolidone, showed similar responses. The reduction peak of NF was proportional to the concentration within the range of 3.0–50.0 and 50.0–200.0 μM, and the detection limit was 0.33 μM. The linear ranges of furantoin and furazolidone were 10–40 and 50–140 μM, respectively, with corresponding detection limits of 0.73 and 1.56 μM. The modified electrode was used to detect NF in the cultured water sample, and the recovery rate of the sample was 94.5%–104.8%. Thus, the result was satisfactory.
