Abstract

Lithium–sulfur battery is a promising energy storage system due to the high theoretical energy density. However, the serious shuttle effect of polysulfides and slow dynamics hinder its further development. Herein, NiO-modified separator was used to solve above problems. Hollow nanostructure alleviates the polysulfides diffusion in both physical and chemical sense. Meanwhile, the abundant mesoporous provide lots of active sites for polysulfides, which effectively catalyzes the electrochemical reaction. Therefore, the modified separator improves the cycle stability and rate performance.
