The concept of nilpotent ideal is defined in the categories of Lie and anti-Lie triple systems, the existence of a nil-radical is proven, and the relationship between the nil-radical of a triple system and that of its standard embedding is examined. Finally, Engel′s theorem is generalized to Lie triple systems in characteristic zero.
