Abstract

On January 1, 2012, Nikhil N. Verma, M.D., joined us to fill the position of Associate Editor, replacing the retiring Tassos Georgoulis. Dr. Verma graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science in cellular and molecular biology and went on from Ann Arbor to Philadelphia where he earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. This was followed by his residency in Chicago at Rush and his fellowship in the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service program at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has a specialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine. Having settled in Chicago, Nik is an attending orthopaedic surgeon for the Sports Medicine Service of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, and associate professor of orthopaedic surgery in the Department of Orthopaedics, Section of Sports Medicine, Rush University Medical Center and Rush Medical College. He is a team physician for the Chicago White Socks and the Chicago Bulls. Nik is an active member of AANA, AAOS, AOSSM, and ASES and has served on the ASES self assessment committee and AANA Learning Center Committee. He has been a reviewer for Arthroscopy since 2004, and has been on the Editorial Board since 2007. I am delighted to welcome Nik Verma to our editorial team.
