Abstract

Bola Tinubu became the president of Nigeria in May 2023 after a turbulent election season in the first months of the year. The country faces a multi-regional security crisis caused by insurgency, banditry, intercommunal violence and separatist activity. Tinubu aims to curb corruption, address socio-economic inequality and improve governance through radical reforms, but he faces significant obstacles to achieving greater stability and national prosperity.
