Abstract

The broad objective of this exercise is to identify and unravel by displaying the corrupt practices going on in Nigeria’s educational sector and to proffer ways to mitigate the scourge particularly possible indigenous methods of curbing corruption other than the usual government solution to the menace. We review the corrupt practices that is pervading the primary, secondary and the tertiary institutions of learning in Nigeria; identify the causes of the corrupt practices in our educational institutions; review the relationship between the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), State Ministries of Education (SMOEs), Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) and the schools; and recommend indigenous ways on how to curb corruption in the educational sector.
