Abstract

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), one of the barriers to research on cannabis is the lack of a standard unit. “Existing experimental data are often hard to interpret due to the wide variability in potency of cannabis plant material and extracts, the lack of standard measures of use, and the wide variety of ways people consume cannabis,” according to a May 10 blog post by NIDA Director Nora Volkow, M.D.
