Abstract

The reactivity of zerovalent nickel-2,2′-bipyridine complexes towards carbon monoxide and organic halides was investigated by electroanalytical methods. The kinetic data obtained allow us to propose two pathways leading to the formation of an acylnickel complex by electroreduction of Nibpy 2+ in the presence of both CO and a halocarbon.
