Abstract
Neutrons In solid state Chemistry and the Earth Sciences Today and Tomorrow, also known as NICEST, was the title of the meeting held from March 12-16, 2003 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Sponsored by Oak Ridge Associated Universities, The University of Tennessee, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), The University of Virginia, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, thethree-day workshop attracted 110 registrants, with 55 attending the short courses that followed the workshop. The workshop was coordinated by the Joint Institute for Neutron Sciences (JINS) and ORNL's Spallation Neutron Source (SNS). Additional funding for attendees scholarships was provided by the COMPRES consortium.
