Abstract
Abstract Catalytic functionalization of challenging C(sp 3 )H bonds is a readily growing field in chemical synthesis. Significant progress in this field is primarily based on precious transition metal (4d or 5d) catalysts. Recently, the design and development of a new catalytic system based on less‐toxic and inexpensive 3d‐transition metals is emerging as an environmentally benign and sustainable alternative. Especially nickel catalysts have shown tremendous activity in the field of CH bond functionalization. In this article, we briefly describe the recent advances and prospects in the Ni‐catalyzed direct arylation and selective aminoxylation reactions via the C(sp 3 )H bond‐functionalization strategy.
