Abstract

Abstract Catalytic functionalization of challenging C(sp 3 )H bonds is a readily growing field in chemical synthesis. Significant progress in this field is primarily based on precious transition metal (4d or 5d) catalysts. Recently, the design and development of a new catalytic system based on less‐toxic and inexpensive 3d‐transition metals is emerging as an environmentally benign and sustainable alternative. Especially nickel catalysts have shown tremendous activity in the field of CH bond functionalization. In this article, we briefly describe the recent advances and prospects in the Ni‐catalyzed direct arylation and selective aminoxylation reactions via the C(sp 3 )H bond‐functionalization strategy.
