Abstract
Zusammenfassung For the case of an inelastic impact of short duration of a mass on an arbitrarily shaped structure with elastic response — the impact being arbitrarily directed towards the structure and with regard to the field of gravity — an approximate solution is derived for the determination of the maximum value of deflection at the location of the impact and of the representative statical load. The analysis is based on the assumption of a field of motion of the structure loaded by impact which is affine to the deflection field for a corresponding static loading.
