Abstract

This study presents the effect of powdered zinc content in silicate paint on cathodic protection of coatings. The study uses the electrochemical impedance measurement (EIS) method and the method of measuring the open-circuit potential (OCP). The results showed that the coating containing over 70% of zinc has good cathodic protection effect more than 5 months in 3.5% NaCl solution, while the zinc content from 50% to 60% does not show that effective cathodic protection.
