Abstract

his paper uses the binary logistic regression method with the 2020 Vietnam Living Standards Survey data set of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam to evaluate the impact of information and communications technology on the level of use of financial products/services of households. Research results show that information and communications technology positively impacts the use of financial products/services. Increasing access and use of information and communications technology increases the likelihood of households having bank accounts, ATM cards, savings accounts, and participating in life insurance. This study also provides new evidence that households' access to information from the commune/ward radio system will increase the level of household use of financial products/services. From the results obtained, the research proposes recommendations for the Government, the State Bank of Vietnam, and financial institutions to enhance the positive impact of information and communications technology on the level of use of financial products/services by households.
