Abstract

A Water Working Group (WWG) was formed by the Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships (RCSPs) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 2009 to identify and address the water-related challenges associated with the commercial deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the United States. The WWG, which consisted of a team of experts from government, academia, and industry, conducted activities to evaluate CCS process that impact water usage and supplies, identify technology gaps and opportunities, and conduct stakeholder outreach to facilitate data transfer and spur future research activities. The WWG concluded its activities in 2018.
