Abstract

This paper details the implementation of data mining and other artificial intelligence technologies at the media archives of Yle, the Finnish Broadcasting Company. The paper discusses Yle’s strategy for the adoption and application of automated technologies, with a view to providing practical advice to organisations intending to move from pilot projects into the more routine use of such technologies. Current methodologies are also described and analysed, along with the continuous development and design processes that have achieved these results.
