Abstract

Newsgames are the way that serious games are looking to gamify news through video games, the objective is to generate new experiences of entertainment, and analysis among its users. Its application is analysed from different international models, but in Colombia the case of the website Ocioweb is the most renowned, where by the use of cartoons they criticize controversial events. This work was aimed to identify what is the relationship between these video games and colombian journalism, through an exploration on the most viewed news media web sites in the country, applying the theory of essential authors. Therefore Ocioweb was analyzed opposite the findings gathered in three important news media, discovering new key players that drag the users to turn in active citizens both inside and outside the network. The work on Newsgames in Colombia is just beginning, this is a new ground to innovate inside cyber journalism and cybermedia.
