Abstract

Home at last: Stacey Gilmore who spent the first 16 months of her life hi the care of staff at Birmingham City Hospital, Dudley Road, has finally gone home. Stacey was born 14 weeks premature and weighing only 875gms (lib 13oz). She went home briefly last year but had to return because of a lung infection. Senior midwife Margaret Clarke, right, said: 'It is marvellous to see Stacey in such good health. She suffered more illnesses in the first year of life than most of us do in a lifetime.' Also pictured are staff nurse Gwen Jackson, left, and Stacey's mother Sharon Brinton.
