Abstract

The oldest steel water storage tank in service in the United States is in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Research has verified that the tank is 102 years old; it was constructed in 1886 and went into service in 1887. The runner‐up in steel tank longevity is the 170,000‐gal elevated storage tank in Whitewater, Wisconsin put into service in 1889. The water system of Baraboo is described.
