Abstract

2007 Annual Meeting of the Society for Ming Studies The annual meeting of the Society for Ming Studies took place on Friday evening, March 23, 2007, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel during the annual meeting of the Association for Asian Studies. Past-president Martin Heijdra, acting on behalf of outgoing president Sarah Schneewind, introduced the new president of the Society, Jenny Purtle, who then presided over the meeting. Jiang Yonglin was voted president-elect of the Society and Maram Epstein and Roland Higgins were elected as new members of the board. Katie Ryor, whose work as editor of Ming Studies extends to the contents of Number 56 (Fall 2007), announced that she was stepping down as of May 1, 2007. Ken Hammond is to be the new editor of the journal.
