Abstract

This note provides a brief overview of new UNCITRAL texts, of the other activities of the Commission’s Working Groups and of the efforts to implement UNCITRAL texts. At its last session in Vienna (8 to 26 July 2013), the Commission adopted a number of new texts.1 One text in the area of investment arbitration: the UNCITRAL rules on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration, in the area of security interests: the Legislative Guide on the Implementation of a Security Rights Registry, a further two texts in the area of insolvency: the revisions to the Guide to Enactment of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency and the legislative recommendations on directors’ obligations in the period approaching insolvency (Part four of the Legislative Guide); and finally, two texts were adopted in the area of public procurement: Guidance on procurement regulations to be promulgated in accordance with article 4 of the UNCITRAL Model law on Public Procurement, and the Glossary of procurement related terms used in the UNCITRAL Model Law on Public Procurement.
