Abstract

The detection of high-energy neutrinos from cosmic sources will open a new window to the universe and help us understand the processes in phenomena like supernova remnants, active galactic nuclei and gamma ray bursts. The article discusses the newest results from searches for point-like sources of cosmic neutrino emission with the AMANDA and IceCube neutrino telescopes.
