Abstract

U.S.D.A. NOTESDr. Kenneth M. McEnroe has resigned, effective January 20, from his post as Associate Administrator for Meat and Poultry Inspection in the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He will become Executive Vice-President of George’s Feed and Supply, Inc., Springdale, Arkansas, a locally-owned family corporation with extensive agri-business operations.Secretary of Agriculture Earl L. Butz commended Dr. McEnroe for his outstanding accomplishments in reconstructing the meat and poultry inspection program of the U.S.D.A., to make it more responsive to the rapidly changing technology in the good industry and the concern of consumers for effective protection of the nation’s food supply.Dr. McEnroe has been directing the meat and poultry inspection program of the U.S.D.A. since September, 1970, when he was appointed Deputy Administrator of the then Consumer and Marketing Service, prior to its reorganization and the formation of A.P.H.I.S. a year ago. .
