Abstract

Background: Endoscopic management of malignant hilar biliary strictures is difficult even for an endoscopist with expertise. Moreover, endoscopic placement of bilateral metal stents has been considered very difficult and complicated. Objectives: We explored the feasibility and efficacy of placement of newly designed metal stent for endoscopic bilateral stent-in-stent for the management of malignant hilar biliary strictures. Patients: 35 patients with malignant hilar biliary strictures of Bismuth type II or higher were enrolled.
