Abstract

In this paper a new auxiliary circuit is introduced for applying to buck, buck-boost, forward and flyback converters. This auxiliary circuit provides zero current switching condition for all switching elements. The proposed ZCT PWM buck converter is analyzed and various operating modes are presented. Design considerations are explained and a design example along with experimental results of ZCT buck converter from a 130 W laboratory prototype switching at 120 KHz are presented. Also the simulation results of a ZCT flyback converter are shown.
