Abstract

The New Zealand Medical Association has petitioned the minister of justice to change the law relating to manslaughter. Section 155 of the Crimes Act 1961 does not differentiate between an anaesthetist whose patient died after an anaesthetic error and a man who caused the death of a doctor whose home he was robbing in an attempt to obtain drugs.
