Abstract

On the closing day of the 1999 session the New York legislalure passed the new, multiple dwelling law to replace the famous tenement house law of 1901 in New York City. The law of 1901 is still in effect in Buffalo. The new measure is not so radical as the one that failed last year. Mr. Purdy was a member of the commission which drafted the new law.
