Abstract

This new year, there are several new changes that regular readers of the Journal will notice.First, this month as the American Dietetic Association officially becomes the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Journal has likewise changed its title to the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. For more information on the name change, look in the “Members” section of www.eatright.org.Second, authors of Journal publications are already aware that the Journal has adopted an Articles in Press (AIP) policy. This means that: •Research findings become available to you, the reader, more quickly—with an average time from acceptance to online posting of approximately 8 weeks.•Authors have the benefit of both earlier, online publication as well as the eventual published print issue.•As soon as corrected proofs are posted, the article-of-record is citable using the unique DOI (digital object identifier) assigned to it when it appears online. When the manuscript is ultimately published in the print version of the Journal, the DOI is included.Authors can track their articles at http://authors.elsevier.com/TrackPaper.html or sign up for Article in Press alerts on the Journal's Web site. The e-mail authors receive when they are sent galleys will include instructions for both of those options. Finally, because these changes provide the opportunity to read new manuscripts online ahead of print, the Editor's Outlook will be abbreviated. The new approach will simply highlight key topics and ideas and to refresh readers' awareness of manuscripts that many will have already read online. We hope you will find these new developments useful and we look to you, our readers and authors, to help spread the word. We strive for excellence in publishing research on nutrition and dietetics that will enhance your professional knowledge and clinical skills in an ever-changing world. Thank you for your ongoing interest and support!Best regards. This new year, there are several new changes that regular readers of the Journal will notice.
