Abstract

New scan-search (SEM) investigation of small pollen palynomorphs have led to a revised correlation of the Coarse Quartz Grit of Worbarrow (Dorset) with the Pine-raft of the Wealden Marls (Wessex Formation) of the western Isle of Wight, and with a level at 426.7–434.3 m (1400–1425 feet) depth in the Warlingham borehole, close in time to the Hauterivian-Barremian boundary.
