Abstract

A new form of universality for weak interactions is proposed, based on the "ur-citon scheme." It enables us, by following simple rules, to derive an effective Hamiltonian for arbitrary weak processes without any parameter except for a universal coupling strength, the Cabibbo angle, and a constant inherent to the "ur-citon scheme." By applying our method to the decay widths of the typical semileptonic and nonleptonic processes our universality is shown to be valid satisfactorily.
