Abstract
The loss, which caused by the secondary mirror of Cassegrain antenna, is analyzed with Gaussian theory. Under the diameter of secondary mirror being one-fifth of the primary diameter, the loss goes beyond 15%. Optimum structure of optical antenna, which is made up of Cassegrain antenna and lenses system, is devised to solve the waste effectively. The optimal diameter of the mirror is analyzed with Matlab. The relation, the transmitting distance with the ratio of P r min/ P out1 is attained by Gaussian theory, where P r min is the minimum power of receiver signals required by optimum antenna; P out1 is the power emitted by the optimum antenna.
